I see it in the way morning light lands on old floorboards. In the weight of a brass tap. In cleaning brushes arranged on a windowsill. In the tension between a Moroccan lantern and a white linen sofa. In flowers stuffed into a dustpan just because they were there, and they were beautiful.

I have been collecting things since before I knew why: antiques, textures, objects with a past. I built a showroom in a former woodworking factory in Amsterdam and filled it with everything I loved. Since then, I have designed homes for people who want to feel something when they walk through the door, shaped hospitality spaces, directed brands, and made clothes with my own hands.

The discipline changes. The eye doesn't.

I believe a home should be lived in, not preserved. That the most beautiful rooms carry some evidence of a real life, a book left open, a vase that doesn't quite match, a chair that has been repaired because it was worth keeping.
